Yu DAO

Onchain governance via WAIFUS

Governance of Yu DAO is exercised exclusively by its members.

Yu DAO represents the highest form of alignment within Yuzo. It is where ownership becomes responsibility, and conviction becomes influence. Here, long-term participants shape the protocol’s evolution in real time.

Governance rights are activated by locking WAIFUS into veWAIFUS, a non-transferable voting escrow token that reflects long-term participation. veWAIFUS is not designed for speculation. It represents conviction, time, and alignment with the protocol’s trajectory.

Voting power is determined by both the amount of WAIFUS locked and the remaining lock duration. Longer commitments carry greater influence. This structure privileges long-term builders and stewards over short-term positioning.

In addition to direct locks, voting power can also be earned by locking WAIFUS LP tokens within the WAIFUS mining vault. This pathway rewards those who provide liquidity and actively support the ecosystem’s growth.

  • Locking WAIFUS: Participation in governance requires WAIFUS to be locked into veWAIFUS. Lock duration determines voting weight throughout the active period.

  • Proposals: Protocol decisions are executed through onchain proposals. Each proposal undergoes a 7-day voting period and must meet quorum and minimum support thresholds to pass. All veWAIFUS holders may vote, though, a minimum balance of [REDACTED] veWAIFUS is required to submit proposals.

  • Gauges: veWAIFUS holders participate in recurring gauge votes that direct protocol emissions. These votes shape how incentives flow across vaults.

  • Transparency: All proposals, votes, and outcomes are recorded onchain. Governance is visible and auditable by anyone. Participation is open via veWAIFUS

  • Discussion: Governance discussions take place within the Yu DAO Forum, where members introduce proposals, discuss ideas, and coordinate before formal voting begins.
